Color gives another shade of beauty to an object, an individual, or even to an idea. The mere mention of color elicits excitement and gives a new meaning to the conversation. Color maps your intention and describes a concept in a way revolutionary way. So is the concept applies in web design? Let’s find out.
Well, colors do matter in web design just as the content found in there. Imagine trying to visit a website with overly offensive colors that makes reading difficult to do. How about a color that has little to do with your business’ services and products. Promoting green products? Would violet and black make suitable match?
Research suggests that color influences buying or shopping decisions of website visitors. Try to imagine how many businesses use the red as part of their corporate branding and you’ll get the entire picture.
So colors can make or break your business and using it across all social media platforms can have positive or negative implications to your business. So even before you start working on marketing your business it’s best that the colors you’ve chosen on your website design are something that talks about your site and your intention or how your visitors will react to your site.
Perhaps you want people to take action and buy your products, red, apple green, black and orange would be the best fit. Pink would be for a site that showcases anything and everything about feminity, or perhaps yellow to add a dash of cheerfulness to your site. Blue is perhaps the safest of them all but may not be revolutionary in terms of revenue generation.
But knowing all these should not make you jump into the bandwagon of using them. Just because they offer hope of giving your money back in your business and generate revenue doesn’t mean you have to use them. Clearly, there are colors that works best for certain enterprises and some colors that are a no-no.
It’s important to remember at this point that colors do help in creating a personal brand for the site or a persona for that matter. Take into consideration the shades of the color as they also affect the kind of business you’re building with darker colors for sites offering entertainment and lighter colors for business or corporate websites.
